Incase the title doesn't appear: Does anyone have Koni STR.T shocks and struts?

Long story short, my dad got me Tokico D Specs for Christmas. He ordered them through Steeda because they were the only ones who sold them as a set. He ordered them in I believe in November and they have been on backorder ever since. Now it's January and Steeda has not received a response from Tokico. I also saw a rumor that they stopped producing shocks and struts, but that's also just a rumor.

So here's the dilemma, my dad paid already with PayPal. I can continue to wait for something that I might never get or go for one of their other shocks and struts. The only other one is the Koni Orange STR.T's. Or I could look for something different, but PayPal might not refund my dad for 30 days. And my shocks and struts are bad, so I would prefer not to wait much longer.

And as much as I want to do Koni Yellows or Bilstiens, they're a little pricey. Another option are the KYB AGX adjustables. Adjustability isn't important, I just want good shocks and struts that will give me a sporty yet comfortable ride. Thanks for any suggestions. This whole thing has thrown away hours of research.

Now lets see if Kinja will let me have a title when I post from my phone...

I have a question for you: how do you know your shocks are bad? Im wondering if mine are. I drove through some heavy slush the other day and it both sounded and felt like my truck was a boat going through waves.

The car (Or truck in your case) might feel soft and float like you said. At least that's what mine is like. My dad originally told me they were bad, then a mechanic said no more fluid existed in them! With a truck at your age and mileage I would bet on them being worn. A mechanic would probably be a better help however.

Their driveable, but I have to wait till I can afford to lower it. I may just do an inch in the front. Rake it a bit. But the front needs to be lower

To be honest I would make sure there aren't more important issues before changing out the shocks and struts. Actually I think we talked about that already. But ya, safety is important! It might be cheaper to get the shocks, struts and springs installed all at once to save on labor. It can get expensive quick.

Same for my car. I'm tempted to do it myself. But it's below 20 degrees now and I refuse to leave my house so that's probably not happening.

I have the yellow Koni Sports on my car, and I love them, if that helps at all. In summer, I generally keep them in the middle setting. I don't know if that relates to the STR.T that they make, but I will for sure buy Koni again.

The sports are what I really want, but are a little out of my price range right now. I've heard nothing but great things about Koni.

Koni STR.T are somewhere between the Reds and Yellows when it comes to firmness. They are sporty, but non-adjustable. Work well with lowering springs from Eibach, 30-40mm max.

I put them on a Opel Corsa B (1.4 16V) with standard springs and reinforced PU bushings all around and the result was a nice little quick car which handled really well. Loved to drive that little rascal, always put a smile on my face :)

Remember to replace the rubber bushings your Konis sit on, those will probably be worn out too.

That sounds good. I'm actually not planning on lowering springs, at stock height my exhaust sometimes scrapes pulling in the garage!

And I've been looking to replace those bushings. I've been hearing a squeak occasionally and I'm sure a bushing is causing that.
